Join a live panel discssion to hear from Newly Registered Nurses about their career journey so far and how they got their first nursing role and their preceptoship experiences.

This seminar will aim to inspire you to start thinking about your first Nursing role. We will offer top tips on being job ready, how to make your CV and job application stand out from the crowd, along with interview techniques to help you shine at interview.

Natalie Elliott, Research Assistant
Nurses have a significant part to play in research. However, transferring into research roles isn’t always easy. Join Natalie as she talks about how to secure a role within research and what you can do to enhance your career prospects. She will also talk about the differences between the Clinical Research Nurse and the Nurse Researcher role. Transitioning from nurse to researcher can be complex and present professional and personal dilemmas, Natalie will explore these further and give you are real view of what it’s like to work in research.

This presentation is about all thing’s children and young people’s nursing. It starts with a welcome slide, following on from this is a typical day in the life of a children’s nurse. After this a discussion on skills and qualifications. Which will lead into how to prepare yourself and your CV. The last 2 slides then explain some challenges and rewards that come with the job. Finally, a thank you slide with some useful pages to follow on social media.

Having previously worked in the legal sector I was inspired by a family friend to make the change to working as a learning disability nurse. I was nervous about making the change but now genuinely think I have one of the best jobs in the world. Everyday presents fresh challenges dealing with people’s significant challenges but eventually having the pay off seeing improvements in people’s lives and their families’ lives.
